The pistol was adopted by the London Metropolitan Police in 1911. Many British military officers carried M.1906 pistols as a second weapon during both World Wars. The cylinder bridge displays following markings, "Webley & Scott Ltd. Birmingham & London". The upper part of the barrel shows the following markings, "Made in England". The left side of the frame displays Webley's "Winged Bullet" logo. The cylinder shows British commercial proof marks, "Crown over BNP". Barrel length: 4 inch. CONDITION: Fine. 84% of original blue on metal. The balance is in white. The blue is turning to brownish color. Fine bores and chambers. The wooden grips show some wear to diamond checkering, as well as some handling marks. The action works fine. Matching serial numbers on the frame and barrel. The cylinder displays six digit number, which is rather high for this model (factory replacement cylinder?). There are no serial numbers stamped on all the remaining parts of the revolver, which is correct for this model. The serial numbers are factory original and were not restamped. All the markings and numbers on metal are clearly visible. No import marks. Serial# 332XX.
