Many Model XIII revolvers were purchased by South American police forces. The left side of the barrel displays following markings, "GABILONDO Y CIA - VITORIA (ESPANA), 38 SPECIAL CTG". The right side of the barrel displays following markings, "Acero de Alta Resistencia". The right side of the frame displays a cartouche, "RUBY EXTRA TRADE MARK". The hardwood grips with diamond checkering also show "RUBY" trade mark. 3.75 inch long round barrel with a ventilated rib. Six chamber cylinder. CONDITION: Fine, with 70% of original gray finish still on metal. The balance is in white mixed with occasional light patina. Couple of spots of metal roughness on the cylinder. Strong action. Nice grips without any cracks, but with some minor handling marks. Excellent bore with strong and shiny rifling. The cylinder chambers are also in excellent condition. All the internal part of the revolver are in fine condition with no visible wear. All the markings and numbers are clearly visible on the metal. Good quality Spanish double action revolver. Serial# 6961XX. (Ref.: "Spanish Handguns" by Gene Gangarosa Jr., pp.189-190).

DESCRIPTION: Beautiful, early Spanish Gabilondo Y Cia "Llama" Model III semi-auto pistol. Manufactured by GABILONDO Y CIA, ELGOIBAR (ESPANA) in 1942, and accordingly marked on the left side of the slide and frame (Spanish date code, "N"). The caliber is stamped just below the maker's name, "CAL 9 M/M (380) "LLAMA"". Llama Model III was a blowback pistol based on Browning designs. This type of pistol was issued to the Spanish secret police during the Franco period. Nice hardwood grips with diamond checkering. Colt 1911 style grip safety and thumb safety. Barrel length: 3.75 inch. Very high quality of machining and metal finish. CONDITION: Near mint. 99%+ of crisp, original blue finish is still on metal. Hardwood grips are in excellent condition with only minor handling marks. Excellent bore with strong and shiny rifling. Strong action. Mechanically, the pistol is in perfect condition. Spanish Gabilondo Y Cia "Llama Extra" Model IV Semi-Auto Pistol

Caliber: 9 x 23mm Largo (Bergmann Bayard)

Price: $950

Inventory # mlp_0366

Pictures:

DESCRIPTION: Very impressive large frame Spanish semi-automatic pistol manufactured by GABILONDO Y CIA, ELGOIBAR (ESPANA) in 1940, and accordingly marked on the left side of the slide and frame. The caliber is stamped just below the maker's name, "CAL 9M/M 38 "LLAMA"". Model IV was introduced in 1931, and it was actually the first of Llama series. The right side of the slide displays model name, ""LLAMA" EXTRA" (this may indicate that the pistol was exported either to Mexico, or to some other Latin American country). The locked-breech design with grip safety copies all the best features of Colt 1911. The firing "tolerant chamber" allowed the gun to fire not only the standard 9mm Largo cartridge, but also .38 Super, 9mm Luger and 9mm Steyr as well, at least that is what Gabilondo has advertised (in my opinion, it is not safe to fire the pistol with other than 9 mm Largo ammo!). The "tolerant chamber" was designed to compete with Astra 400 pistol. Nice hardwood grips with diamond checkering. Very high quality of machining and metal finish. CONDITION: Low excellent. 94% of crisp, original blue on the metal. The metal finish shows just minor handling marks and light scratches on the slide. Excellent bore with strong and shiny rifling. Strong action. Mechanically, the pistol is in perfect condition. All the markings and numbers are clearly visible on the metal. All the internal parts of the pistol are in excellent condition, with no visible wear. Couple of handling marks on the grips. No import markings. Early Llama pistol in very collectible condition. Serial# 459XX. (Ref. "Spanish Handguns" by Gene Gangarosa Jr., p.65).
