DESCRIPTION: This bayonet came with Siamese marked German Mauser M.1871 rifle. Siamese characters are stamped on the pommel. Some sources identify it as a Chinese bayonet, some as a Siamese bayonet (supposedly for Mauser M.1871, Gew. 1888 and Chinese Hanyang rifles). Janzen believes it is a German export bayonet for Mauser M.1871 and Gew. 1888. The grips seems to be made of Asian (Chinese) oak. Characteristic double edged blade. Complete with a steel scabbard. The scabbard displays a "Diamond with 2" and some other small markings. The muzzle ring diameter: 17.5 mm. CONDITION: Low fine. The bayonet has about 45% of its blue finish.
